Sarcococca Humilis is a tough, compact and reliable, dwarf shrub. It has dark green lance-shaped evergreen leaves and prefers partial to deep shade. In autumn small greenish-yellow buds appear along the stems which open to small white flowers with a vanilla fragrance in December to February. The flowers are followed by shiny black berries which are loved by birds. Suitable for shaded borders or woodland areas Humilis will also be happy in a pot. It grows to 90cm and is happy in any well drained soil.
